Frugal Find: T.J.Maxx

While I have been on my work adventures and life/moving adventures I found a few frugal finds, but the past is the past you know what I mean? I could post all the pictures but why? Let's focus on the present! Today I forced asked my sweet boyfriend if he wanted to go to T.J. Maxx, he jumped for joy ;) and out the door we went!

 

While I found a lot of adorable bags, I didn't capitalize on them. One Steve Madden was on clearence for $20, but I saw a flaw and decided if it sat on the shelf for that long and it somehow got messed up...then I was going to pass on buying it.

 

After walking thru the entire store and only finding a Camelbak water bottle for $12, I walked sadly up to the registers. I love T.J Maxx's sneaky way of putting all of these cute little things that you HAVE to buy right before you get to the register! Luckily for them and me, that is where I found the stash..

 

Colorful, bright, pastel, neon and sparkly. Like little bottles of instant happiness. Yep Essie Nail Polish. While I have explained my addiction to nail polish before, I must confess that last weekend in a moment of weakness necessity, I gave half of my nail polishes away, to my amazing older sisters. So I didn't feel too bad for buying these three, how could I pass them up at only $3.99 a bottle! I bought the shades: Very Structured, Absolutely Shore, and Soiree Mauve.

Quick Frugal Tip: I have this habit of getting my phone out and googling shades of nail polish, lip glosses, eyeshadows etc while in stores, it helps me cut down on my spending and I get what I will really use and want.

 

 

 

 

While I was out I got this lip gloss (I also gave away a bunch of makeup!) It is by Maybelline and called Baby Lips, the shade is 25: Pink Punch. It is a lovely pink shade, baby lips are very similiar to Revlon Lip Butters, very moisturizing and colorful. I like that it is light and buildable, not as pigmented as Revlon Lip Butters but I like it for a nice quick lip and day to day moisture.

If you know me at all you know that I own an insane amount of beauty products. I own a little bit of everything but my kryptonite is Nail Polish. I have a little downstairs, a large amount in my bedroom, a little more in the bathroom, in my car, in my purse, a little in the guest room, a little in the downstairs bathroom and a few being fostered at my sisters homes. Well I keep buying more, here is why. I don't own every single color yet and I love to play with color! (I also love seeing my boyfriend cringe at another bottle, then tell me that he likes the color!)
So on my recent trip to Burlington Coat Factory I spotted four little bottles, they were so bright that I couldn't miss them and for $3.99 how could I leave these little lovelies sitting on the couch for someone else to take? No no, they came home with me. I have already used three of the colors and they are perfection.

A perfect lime green color, bright orange, insanely neon purple, and bright pink!

 Here is the bright pink color on my fingers.

The nail polish are the perfect creamy consistency that give off perfect color pay off, they don't get sticky when drying, and they are the perfect addition to a spring outfit. I love them! Way to go Color Club!

Every time I received my birchbox I get an e-mail 3 days before telling me what is inside of it, and I always have to remember to delete the e-mail before I get nosy and ruin my surprise.

 I am a bit of a nail polish hoarder so this has already been used. I love the grayish tone to it, and it has just enough sparkle and shine. I am a huge fan of Zoya Products as it is so anytime I get one of this I am ecstatic!

While I still love my birchbox, I think they need to up the ante and get more beauty products to try, as in MAKEUP. I have so many soaps, oils and lotions and countless mini samples of perfume but I have my little survey set to "I like to try new makeup trends" and I have yet receive ANY new makeup trends. Face makeup or Eye makeup... Odd. What I will say for birchbox as a company is that when I recieved my last birchbox and the glass perfume sample had shattered they shipped another box to me without any additional costs. It was very nice, a WHOLE new box and not just the sample. Which in fact I loved because I got a different color of the nail polish and I LOVE the Shine perfume. Great work birchbox!

I remember when pen pals used to be the coolest thing, however it didn't go too far, more like passing notes in class then sending across the US of A. I think it is fun to send my friends near and far a little something for them to remember that just because we don't talk everyday, doesn't mean I don't think of them, love them and wish them the best, daily.

Travel Bag

My Jessica Simpson Havana Nights Travel bag has been near and far, but most recently from San Diego, to Riverside County to Los Angeles, and to San Marcos.

I live about 45 minutes from work, 1 hour + 25 minutes from my boyfriend, 30 minutes from my best friend and have friends in between, needless to say, I travel A LOT! I use up a lot of gas, keep half of my closet in the trunk of my car and stay at my Boyfriend or Best Friends at least once a week until I find a place of my own.

Mermaid Nails

As previously stated, I change my nail polish all the time and love trying new things. Most recently I stumbled upon Mermaid Nails. here  and I knew I wanted to try it immediately. So I asked mom if she had any loose glitter in her craft room. Yes. She has a craft room. I jump in and jump out before I look around and get distracted and end up losing my focus for my first craft and end up starting 100 others!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color: Blue-Away

First I painted two coats of Blue-Away. Then I grabbed my 4 year old nieces paint brush... shh don't tell her, girlfriend will take.me.out. ;)

I dipped the cuties brush into this clear polish & painted the tip of my nail

Then I dipped the same brush into the loose glitter and patted it on the freshly clear painted tip.

Dried and Ta-Da!

...My First Love..

Nail Polish!

Have you ever changed your nail polish every day for a week? Well let me tell you, it is wonderful yellow Monday, blue Tuesday, pink Wednesday, taupe Thursday, red Friday, purple Saturday, and green Sunday. Why not? Here is the thing; I don't do this every week, that would be ridiculous, but two-three times a week....guilty. I change my nail polish a LOT. Enough to where my ex-boyfriend actually noticed and my co-workers began to look concerned. BUT here is the thing, I work "part-time" what I mean by "part-time" is that I work in the office part time and then I come home and get back to work. I know, I shouldn't because I am not being paid for this time etc. but I do. I want my program to be the most successful program and that is that. So this basically means that I have more time than the average full-time, in-office or cubicle worker. I have from 3:00 - whenever I fall asleep to do whatever I want.

Here is where nail polish entered my life, I remember being a little girl and my mom gave me this book.

I began to try the flowers, the polka dots and the unbelievably easy French Tip. Yes, I tell you without lying that I do not have to use a brush or tape to make a straight line. I could rival some nail salon ladies. So anyway that is where the habit began, soon after I remember being given a goodie bag from a party and I got this amazing Dark Blue Wet N' Wild Nail Polish. I ran that brush on my nails as fast as I could and began waving at everyone showing it off...until... Mom saw. She wasn't having dark nails in 6th grade, more like 16! Yes 16!! Could you die? Thanks mom.

Luckily by that time Lauren Conrad began wearing black nails and every other celebutante so

I was in the clear!

Okay so at this point you are thinking:
 really though...did you get a deal or not?

Alright well I have to confess I got an extra deal today. So this store had a sale and they had a limit of 3 nail polishes. So I bought 3. So I bought 3 and then added one extra because I felt that I could afford the extra at $1.99. So. One .99 Two .99 and another .99 plus an extra $1.99. Well guess what. I was being honest and was ready to get the fourth for $1.99. I got in my car and realized that the 4th was $.99.

Well me being foolishly frugal...I may or may not have gone back to conduct an official experiment....
